For Sawyer

He's up staring out at the sky. He's doing this more and more lately, with the cancer having come back. He knows it's freaking some of them out, but he's kind of in a space where he doesn't care.

Beating Cancer once is hard but awesome. Twice is going to suck harder but he's going to squeeze every last minute he can out of this life.

He's still got some of his people. May and Dash and Jordy are still here. Kara's out of the hospital and sending them pictures from the places she's at. She's promising to bring them all back presents.

He's hoping it's nothing live.

Sawyer is there visiting her mom. Of course, she'd planned on stopping by to see Leo as well. They'd met in the cafeteria some time ago and since then she always includes Leo in her visits. She likes him a lot more than she's willing to admit right now.

After saying goodbye to her mom, Sawyer runs by Leo's room. When he's not there, she assumes he's on the roof so she goes straight there. She pushes the door open as quietly as possible and moves across the roof toward him. "Got room for one more?" she asks as she steps up beside him.

"For you? Always." Leo grins over at her. "Need a hug?" Because sometimes visit days are good and sometimes they aren't. Sawyer is such a cool person too, he's sorry about her mom, but he's thrilled that he got to meet Sawyer. She's refreshing and awesome and he feels like he can do anything around her.

It's nice.

"Yes, please," she quips. "And it'd be awesome if I could just get an unlimited supply of those." The cheerfulness in her voice wanes away as she says it. She's not sure there are going to be good days anymore.She's a smart girl. She knows what's happening. Everyone is trying to prepare her for it. Leo is the bright spot in her visits. She knows why he's here as well, but (as far as she knows) he's here to get better. There are things they can do to help him get better. Leo is not like her mom.

It is nice.
